Well Control School Introduces System 21...the Only Interactive Well Control And Production Safety Systems Training Programs Approved by Minerals Management Service |
NEW ORLEANS, April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Well Control School, a subsidiary of RPC, Inc. (NYSE: RES), announced today their new product launch of System 21 Well Control(TM) and Production Safety Systems Training. These programs were developed to meet the new guidelines set by the Mineral Management Service (MMS) Subpart "O" Training regulations to ensure competency of personnel. System 21(TM) is the only interactive computer based training and certification system approved by the MMS for both Well Control and Production Safety Systems.
As of October 15, 2002 the MMS will no longer accredit schools or other organizations for Well Control and Production Safety training and certification. Instead, oil and gas companies will be held accountable for competency and skill assessment of employees and contractors. This program satisfies the requirements mandated by the new federal regulations to develop a training plan, verify competency and frequency of oilfield training, and document and maintain records for both operator personnel and its contractors.
System 21(TM) contains self-paced programs for both Well Control and Production Safety Systems. This program is available and easily implemented at the rig site or platform, offices, in-house schools, or at any of the Well Control School training locations. System 21(TM) helps to reduce overall training costs by as much as 50% by eliminating expenses for travel, hotel, meals, overtime and relief personnel.
System 21 Well Control(TM) contains over 2,000 topics and skills offering the highest level of training, testing, simulation, and overall employee competence to the oil and gas industry. Interactive tasks and role-playing familiarize learners with well control concepts, emphasizing correct procedure and teamwork. Computer graphics dramatically depict downhole conditions such as deepwater or horizontal drilling. As students complete each module, skill levels are recorded and progress reports are generated as the users work toward obtaining certification in Drilling, Well Completion / Workover, Well Servicing (Snubbing, Coiled Tubing, Wireline), and Subsea.
The course content and reports generated by System 21(TM) also help companies conform to the standards set forth by ISO 9000 addressing training, record keeping and quality audits.
WELL CONTROL SCHOOL, based in Harvey, Louisiana, is a leading provider of training and certification services to the worldwide oil industry. These training services include conventional instructor led classroom training using full color training materials and hands-on simulation exercises and a full line of high-end interactive training products.
